About The Artist
Libby Ember is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter based in Montreal, currently pursuing her music studies at Concordia University. A self-described artist for the "yearners," her music blends the raw honesty of indie-folk with the textures of dream pop. Her songwriting explores themes of anxiety, longing, vulnerability, and the contradiction of private feelings colliding with public spaces.
Since the release of her debut EP, I Kill Spiders, Libby has had a defining 2025 that cemented her as a "rising voice in the indie-pop scene" (EARMILK), landed multiple Spotify Editorial playlists, and saw her winning the Overture With The Arts songwriting competition. With significant momentum from campus and satellite radio support, continued editorial recognition, and features in publications like Montreal Guardian, The Spill Magazine, and Music is to Blame, Libby is rapidly transitioning from a local secret to an internationally recognized voice.
Following acclaimed singles "Let Me Go," "News at the Party," and "I'll Stand in the Doorway," Libby's new single, "Gravity," is out now. Written during a breakup while travelling through Norway, the track transforms heartbreak into quiet acceptance, pairing reflective lyricism with brighter, more rhythmically driven indie pop production. Libby draws motivation from the storytelling prowess found in the work of artists she loves, such as Lizzy McAlpine, Phoebe Bridgers, Beabadoobee, and Leith Ross.
In addition to her solo work, Libby is also part of the duo
